8/13/2023 0 Comments Mark ruffalo avengersThe 'big reveal' was censored on the show and came after Fallon pressed him about the name of the film. Are you sure you’re gonna be in trouble? We c… - jimmy fallon fallon) Better late than never.Dude, it’s too late - already sent the final show to Burbank for air. It’s no wonder it earned him an Oscar nomination, the Academy finally waking up to Ruffalo’s brilliance, nearly two decades after he started acting. In a film filled with incredibly difficult characters that often stretch the limits of your empathy, Ruffalo is its most haunting and loveable protagonist. Here’s a character magnetised to screw-ups, someone charming and sweet but perpetually sabotaging his life and relationships. ![]() There’s a lovely sleepy energy to his performance here, but also significant trauma. ![]() He plays the anonymous sperm donor to a lesbian couple ( Annette Bening and Julianne Moore), who is surprised by the arrival of two children he didn’t know existed. Ruffalo’s character in The Kids Are All Right feels like what would happen if his You Can Count on Me character grew up, grew a beard and went vegan. ![]() He and co-star Meg Ryan, herself disgracefully maligned back then for having the temerity to be in such a dark and sexual film, create an explosive spark like few others before them. He is graceful and effortlessly sexy, while simultaneously volatile and threatening. A notorious flop upon release, In the Cut has only grown in admiration since, partly assisted by Ruffalo’s performance. He is an irresistible enigma here – a cop with a thuggish, seductive presence, whose sexual allure and suave aggression could mask either a troubled soul or a sadistic killer. Jane Campion’s masterful erotic thriller grants Ruffalo the kind of role typically given to femme fatales in these sorts of movies. But Ruffalo plays him with such self-loathing and timid naivety that it’s impossible not to want to take care of him, too. He plays a character that should be insufferable – a damaged, irresponsible man-child endlessly looking to his older sister ( Laura Linney) for advice, money and safety. Ruffalo’s star-making role, at least in critical circles, was this beautifully small-scale drama of siblings and tiny disappointments. But a flashier movie would also take away from the earthy beauty of his work. In a flashier movie, he would have earnt awards attention. Ruffalo feels smaller than usual here, playing a man doggedly fighting a corrupt system that dwarfs him in scale, yet he is also angrier and more empowered at the same time. ![]() It would be a mistake to also suggest it’s not therefore a brilliant bit of acting. Alongside Steve Carell’s inexplicably Oscar-nominated scenery-chewing performance as the convicted killer John du Pont, Ruffalo’s natural subtleties were even more powerful than usual.ĭark Waters finds Ruffalo at his Ruffalo-iest, playing a righteous, determined attorney standing on the right side of history and determined to make a difference. He is therefore someone incredibly uneasy about ever stepping out of line. As the murdered Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz, Ruffalo radiates goodness – a man raised to be respectful and kind and work hard for great rewards. That he somehow delivers the film’s most fascinating performance then qualifies as a major victory. Ruffalo has arguably the least interesting role of the trio at the centre of Foxcatcher. He plays his character as every well-read asshole you’ve ever met at a university party, and it’s a performance that proved early on the depths of his range. Playing one third of a spectacularly wrong-headed trio of lovers which slowly implodes over the course of a few weeks, Ruffalo refuses to embody total villainy but instead a very naturalistic kind of ignorance. Potentially the greatest test of Ruffalo’s likeability occurred in this 2002 indie, which cast him as a lusty narcissist incapable of recognising his own failings.

The difference, fundamentally, between these two types of personal accomplishment is this: Vertical growth has a tendency to focus on flashy new job titles. Moving “across” the company, rather than in an upward trajectory, means you get to see and experience different departments and teams. It allows you to leverage and improve upon the skills you already have, in order to take on new responsibilities and experience different types of thought leadership. This page introduces lattice enthalpies (lattice energies) and Born-Haber cycles. The greater the lattice enthalpy, the stronger the forces. It just makes sense, considering how well-rounded modern employees are expected to be in our complex, interconnected, technologically-savvy world. Lattice enthalpy is a measure of the strength of the forces between the ions in an ionic solid. It had worked, sort of, because Smart was in the process of getting a clean look when Holiday broke off from Brown. But the Celtics had spent the fourth attacking the easier mark, Pat Connaughton, and that's where Marcus Smart went for a potential game-winning shot. Holiday was defending Jaylen Brown, who scored 16 of his 26 points in the third quarter. The nuanced greatness of the play he made with eight seconds left and the Bucks up by one point - after a dramatic putback by Bobby Portis that deserves its own novella - is hard to communicate even if you saw it and then replayed it. In this case, one a diamond, the other a ruby. Those felt like bargains after he delivered another in what has become a long list of defensive gems. The Bucks traded three first-round picks for Holiday in 2020 - a deal for a then-30-year-old guard that was questioned at the time - and eventually signed him to a $135 million extension last year. He spent days unable to use his new computer because of trouble working with his monitor. Video from a guy who bought the M1 Mac Mini. This is a long 29 page thread that started in 2020 and the most recent posts are in 2022: I have found lots of stuff about monitor problems with the M1 Mac Mini. Maybe recent ones have the problems fixed?Īlso, Mac intel desktop and a Macbook Air M1 connected to DELL U2722DX Display, Air connected to USB-C - DP cable (a slightly better video than HDMI), desktop through HDMI. I have seen several people say that this monitor and many other Dell and non-Dell monitors don't work with the M1 Mac Mini though. I bought mine here in Japan and had to pay about double the price in the U.S. A few years ago it was often recommended here on dpreview as a medium price monitor good for photo editing. I have Mac mini m1 connected to Dell 24 inch monitor via HDMI, which works flawlessly.īy chance, is it the Dell U2415 24" monitor? 1920x1200, 16:10? I have this one and like it a lot. I then also use Backblaze for cloud plus iCloud for certain additional backups. So, I have 2 x external SSD's and 3 x external HDD's which are used for 2 x time machine plus various selective backups with Carbon Copy Cloner. Now that's a long one to answer, I'm very OTT with backups. Still going strong (it better should after only 2 1/2 years). Very positive! Any external hard disk (back up)? If so, which connection/port? I paid £1200 including VAT in the UK last year, it's a bargain! I also like that the calibration is held within the monitor hardware, so no searching for correct profile for laptop when unplugged. Some folk comment that 4k on 27" isn't native, but honestly it doesn't matter. There are no negatives to share, the colour accuracy is amazing. Bit of topic (sorry), but can you share your experiences with the CS2740? Pro and neg? Thank you! Probably much more expensive, so CS2740 serious option. That could be my next monitor (still more than enough time), but I'll at least wait for the CG2700x later this year. I use an Eizo CS2740 with a single cable USB-C connection and it works great. 8/12/2023 0 Comments Fontagent 8 manual![]() You can quickly clean up fonts and remove errors or even update them. ![]() FontAgent also include many handy tools to manage your fonts in batch.
